I did some research yesterday on content of social media posts. I had read a study a few months ago that said you should go on a 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 philosophy. 1/3 – original content (your blogs), 1/3 – about your brand, and 1/3 content from other sources that would interest your readers.
Yesterday — a study came up in my feed that said 80% of your content should engage your audience and 20% of your posts should be about your brand. I have a friend with a cattle ranch. If he posts pics of the cattle he’s raising – he gets a like or two. If he posts the same pic with one of his kids in the foreground – it gets multiple likes. Your posts need to reach out and touch your audience. This is known as pulling back the curtain. Your audience wants to know you! They want to know what makes you tick, what makes you laugh, and most importantly, if your values are similar to theirs.
